Lichelle Laws, better known as the pioneering gangster rapper BO$$, died Monday (March 11) from kidney failure. She was 54.
Laws was born and raised in Detroit, but in the early 1990s, he rose to fame as a participant in the emerging West Coast gangster rap scene. She relocated to New York City with the intention of starting a rap career. But she chose to move to Los Angeles after failing to make any progress in the city that gave rise to rap.
Bo$$ rep’d the D so well as a pioneer. Such a talented MC. RIP!!!
