Wide receiver Mike Williams is being released by the Chargers, according to sources cited by NFL Network Insiders on Wednesday.
After seven seasons with the organization, Williams has 309 career catches for 4,806 yards and 31 touchdowns. The Chargers had long considered him a top target, but because to his history of injuries, the organization had to take action to avoid going over the cap before the league season officially began.
